Terms of service
Last updated 21 October 2026
Please read these terms carefully. They set out the agreement between you and us when you use MoneyGlass. By creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you subscribe, they also cover your subscription. If you do not agree, please do not create an account.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to the MoneyGlass website and app at moneyglass.co.uk (the “service”). “We”, “us” and “our” mean MoneyGlass Limited. “You” means the person using the service.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we use your personal information and our Cookies page explains the cookies we use. They are separate documents, not part of these terms.
These terms are only in English. We do not file a copy of your agreement for you to request later, so please save or print a copy for your records. You can always find the current version on this page.
The free calculators on our public pages can be used without an account. Sections 3, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16 and 20 apply to that use too.
2. Who we are and how to contact us
MoneyGlass is operated by MoneyGlass Limited.
- Registered in England and Wales, company number 17523818.
You can contact us using the contact page or by email to admin@moneyglass.co.uk. If we need to contact you, we will use the email address on your account. When these terms say “in writing”, that includes email.
3. What MoneyGlass is, and what it is not
MoneyGlass is a budgeting and planning tool. It helps you organise your own figures and gives general information and calculations based on what you enter.
It is not advice. Nothing in the service is financial, investment, mortgage, credit, tax, pensions or legal advice, or a recommendation to take or not take any course of action. We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and we are not a lender, credit broker, mortgage broker, accountant or financial adviser. We do not arrange or introduce you to any financial product, and we do not receive commission from any provider.
Results are estimates. Calculations depend on the figures and assumptions you enter and on published rates (for example tax rates, thresholds and exchange rates) that can change. They will not match exactly what a lender, HM Revenue & Customs, a bank or any other organisation decides. Check important figures, and consider speaking to an appropriately authorised professional before making a financial decision.
We do not create or show a credit score, we do not connect to your bank accounts, and we do not make applications or submissions to anyone on your behalf. Importing a statement file you have downloaded yourself is not a connection to your bank. Exchange rates on the travel money page are reference rates for comparison, not rates you can buy at.
4. Your account
To create an account you must be 18 or over, and the service is for your own personal, non-business use. You must give a valid email address that you can access, and you can have one account.
Keep your password secret and your email account secure, because anyone with access to them can access yourMoneyGlass account. Tell us promptly through the contact page if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens on your account unless it was caused by our failure to keep the service reasonably secure.
5. Your information
The figures and notes you enter belong to you. You allow us to store and process them only so we can run the service for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not sell your information, and we do not use your financial figures for advertising.
Please make sure what you enter is accurate, and do not enter other people's personal information unless you are entitled to. You can download or delete your information from your Profile page at any time.
Importing a statement. You can add spending from a PDF or Excel (.xlsx or .csv) bank statement you have downloaded. The file is read on your own device and is not uploaded to us; only the lines you choose to add are saved. Statements are laid out differently by each bank, so the automatic reading can get a date, an amount, a payee or a category wrong, or miss or repeat a line. Check each line before you add it and correct or delete any entry that is wrong afterwards. Only import statements for accounts you are entitled to use.
We will send you emails needed to run your account, such as sign-in links, security messages and receipts. We also send a short monthly summary email, which you can turn off from your Profile page or the link in each email.
6. Free features, trial and subscriptions
You can use all of MoneyGlass free for 14 days after you create your account. After that, using the app needs a paid subscription. The free trial does not turn into a paid subscription automatically: you only pay if you choose to subscribe. Without a subscription you can still sign in to subscribe, and to download or delete your information. The calculators on our public pages stay free.
The standard prices are £4.99 per month or £39.99 per year. Prices include any VAT that applies. The Plans page shows what a subscription includes, and the checkout page shows the exact price before you pay.
Payments are handled securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Your contract with us is formed when we confirm your subscription on screen or by email.
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year, and we take the same payment using the card you gave us, until you cancel. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe may try again over the following days. If it still cannot be taken, your subscription ends and paid features stop.
7. Your right to cancel within 14 days
If you are a consumer, you have a legal right to cancel a new subscription within 14 days, starting the day after your contract is formed, without giving a reason. This is under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
Paid features start as soon as you subscribe. By subscribing, you ask us to start straight away, during the 14 days. If you cancel within the 14 days, we will refund what you paid, minus a fair amount for the days you had the service before telling us you were cancelling. For example, if you cancel a monthly subscription after 3 days, we keep about 3 days' worth and refund the rest.
To cancel, tell us clearly through the contact page or by email to admin@moneyglass.co.uk, saying that you want to cancel. You can use the model form in section 20, but you do not have to. It is enough to send your message before the 14 days end. We will refund you within 14 days of being told, to the payment method you used, at no cost to you.
8. Cancelling after 14 days
You can cancel at any time, for any reason. On the Plans page, choose Manage or cancel subscription to open the secure billing portal, where you can cancel in a few clicks. You can also ask us through the contact page.
Cancelling stops future payments. You keep paid features until the end of the month or year you have already paid for, and you are not charged again. Outside the 14-day period, we do not refund part-used periods, unless section 10 or 16 says otherwise or the law requires it.
9. Price changes
We may change our standard prices. If a change affects your subscription, we will email you at least 30 days before it applies, and it will only apply from your next renewal after that notice. If you do not want to pay the new price, you can cancel before then and you will not be charged it.
If we make an obvious mistake with a price on the site, for example showing £0.50 instead of £4.99, we may refuse or cancel that order and refund anything you paid.
10. Your legal rights
If you are a consumer, the law gives you rights that these terms do not affect. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality, and services must be provided with reasonable care and skill. If something we supply does not meet these standards, you may be entitled to have it fixed, or to some or all of your money back.
For more about your rights, contact Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk) or, in Northern Ireland, the Consumerline service.
11. Using MoneyGlass properly
You agree not to:
- use the service for anything unlawful, fraudulent or harmful;
- try to access other people's accounts or data, or parts of the service you are not allowed to;
- try to break, overload, test the security of or get around the limits or paywall of the service;
- copy, scrape or harvest the service or its content by automated means, or use it to build a competing product;
- upload viruses or anything designed to cause harm; or
- resell, rent or share your account or paid features with others.
If you do, we may suspend or close your account, as explained in section 16.
12. Our content and intellectual property
We, or the people we license from, own the service and everything in it except your own information. That includes the software, design, text, calculators, graphics and the MoneyGlass name and logo. We give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use the service for your own non-business purposes in line with these terms. You may print or save your own reports and results for personal use.
13. Other services we rely on
We rely on trusted providers to run the service, for example hosting, database, payments (Stripe) and email. The Privacy Policy lists them. Exchange rates come from the European Central Bank's published reference rates.
If you sign in with Google, or a page links to another website, that service's own terms also apply to your use of it. We do not control and are not responsible for other websites, and a link is not an endorsement.
14. Changes to the service and availability
We are always improving MoneyGlass, so features may change. We will not make changes that significantly reduce what a paid subscription gives you during a period you have paid for. If we must make such a change, for example because of a change in the law, we will tell you in advance, and you may cancel and receive a refund for the unused part of your current period.
We aim to keep the service available at all times, but we cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may need to pause it for maintenance, security or reasons outside our control. We will try to keep any interruption short.
If we stop providing the service altogether, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email, time to download your information, and a refund for any period you have paid for but will not receive.
15. Our responsibility for loss or damage
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breaching your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit or exclude.
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss is foreseeable if it is obvious it will happen, or if both of us knew it might happen when you agreed to these terms. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.
The service is for personal use. We are not responsible for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.
Because the service gives general estimates and not advice (see section 3), we are not responsible for decisions you make based on figures you entered or on assumptions shown to you, except where the loss is caused by our own failure to use reasonable care and skill, such as an error in how we calculate.
If defective digital content that we supply damages a device or digital content belonging to you, and this is caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill, we will either repair the damage or pay you compensation. We will not be responsible if you could have avoided the damage by following our advice to apply a free update, or by meeting the minimum system requirements we told you about.
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control. If this happens, we will tell you as soon as we can and take steps to reduce the effect.
16. Ending your account
You can stop using the service whenever you like. You can delete your information from the Profile page, or ask us through the contact page to close your account. If you have a subscription, cancel it as explained in section 8 so you are not charged again.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if we have to for legal reasons, or to protect the service or other users. Where reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. If we close your account and you have not broken these terms, we will refund any period you have paid for but will not receive.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example to reflect changes in the law, how we run the service or new features. If a change materially affects you, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree with the change, you can close your account or cancel your subscription before it takes effect, and we will refund any period you have paid for after that date. Smaller changes, such as correcting mistakes or making the wording clearer, take effect when we publish them.
The date at the top of this page shows when these terms were last updated.
18. Complaints and disputes
If you are unhappy with anything, please tell us through the contact page or by email to admin@moneyglass.co.uk. We will reply within 14 days and try to put things right.
If we cannot resolve your complaint, we will confirm that to you in writing. We do not currently use an alternative dispute resolution service. You can get free, independent advice from Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk), and you can bring a claim in the courts.
19. Other legal terms
Law and courts. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you can also bring legal proceedings in Scotland, and if you live in Northern Ireland, you can also bring them in Northern Ireland.
Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, for example if the business is sold, and we will tell you if this happens. Your rights under these terms will not be reduced. You may not transfer your account or your rights to someone else.
Other people. This agreement is between you and us. Nobody else has any right to enforce any of its terms.
If part is invalid. If a court decides that part of these terms is unlawful, the rest stays in full effect.
Delays. If we do not insist straight away that you do something these terms require, or we delay taking action, we can still take that action later.
20. Model cancellation form
If you want to cancel within the 14 days in section 7, you can copy this text into a message through the contact page or by email to admin@moneyglass.co.uk. Using it is optional.
